ASG is comprised of three levels of membership, set to enable flexibility over the level of involvement each member has in the group. If you wish to apply to join the Group please fill out the form on this website, setting out your experience or knowledge of the sector and the application will be taken forward for consideration by the Steering Group.
- The Steering Group: this is made up of the founder members of ASG listed below. Steering Group members are responsible for representing ASG at meetings with Government ministers, for drafting the annual strategy and speaking on behalf of ASG at events.
- Main Group: this is made up of organisations who represent those in the farming, producer and retail sector. Main Group members will be able to comment on ASG policy and position papers, they will be invited to all events and will input into the strategy.
- Associate Group: this is made up of individual producers, farmers, abattoir operators, butchers, and renderers etc who work, or are involved in some way, with small abattoirs. Associate Group members will be able to help ASG build up case studies, or present real issues by responding to surveys at times. The Associate members will be kept informed of ASG’s work and when needed will help influence local Members of Parliament to keep pressure on Government to support small abattoirs.
